Double Fifth Dragon Boating.

As the great George Carlin once said, if you can take two things that have never before been put together…and put them together, someone, somewhere will find it fascinating.

On Sunday’s Outlook Portland (Sunday at 6:30am, only on NW32 TV), we offer the very embodiment of that statement.

They are symbols of power…and of the enduring force of nature. They travel distances both great and small, and their iconography is scattered throughout history…from one country to the next.
Dragons…..and boats.

Dragon Boats are seen the world over, including on our own Willamette River. Works of art, works of aerodynamic innovation, and representations of a (literally)-poetic Chinese history, Dragon Boats are also, as a linguistic laureate might observe, simply…awesome.

On Sunday, we’ll be joined by Mr. Jeff Campbell of Double Fifth Dragon Boating; he’ll tell us about the history of this amazing sport, and about its inexorable march to inevitable global dominance.

We’ll also have another “Outlook Portland Editorial Reply”, featuring an opinion piece by Godzilla – King of the Monsters. The “Outlook Portland Editorial Reply” is, of course, brought to you by our marquee sponsor, Things From Another World.

NEXT WEEK: Comedian, entertainer, and the man behind the one and only Ed Forman…Mr. Aaron Ross.

IN TWO WEEKS: Mt St Helens 30th Anniversary with Mt St Helens Institute.
